NoUSB.co: A Unique Approach to Online File Sharing
NoUSB.co is a standout alternative to Snapdrop thanks to its unique approach to online file sharing.

This platform is focused on protecting your privacy and reducing your environmental impact, and it accomplishes this by not storing any of the files you send on its servers. NoUSB.co is also available on all platforms and devices, making it a versatile choice.

Additionally, it's incredibly user-friendly and requires no registration. To use it, simply open the website, share a link or QR code, add your file, click "boost this!" and everything will disappear once you close the tab.

Smash: An Alternative to Snapdrop with Extra Features
Smash is another option for wireless file transfer that offers some additional features not found on Snapdrop. This includes the ability to create public share links, password-protect files, and even download files from other websites.

While Smash does offer paid plans with additional features, there is also a free version available.
The negative side is that you still have to copy your files on someone else’s hard drive, and it’s not very adapted for quick direct transfer between two devices.

Toffeeshare: A Lightweight Alternative for Wireless File Sharing
Toffeeshare is a lightweight alternative to Snapdrop that utilizes WebRTC technology for direct device-to-device file transfers. It's completely free and requires no sign-up, making it a great choice for quick and easy file sharing.
The negative side is that the WebRTC technology gives variable results depending on which browser you are using. Which among other things will make large file transfer impossible.
When we did our tests here, the download did happen, but the file never showed up in the Download folder.

Conclusion
In conclusion, while Snapdrop is a popular choice for wireless file transfer, there are several other alternatives that offer their own unique advantages. Whether you're looking for a more secure option or one with extra features, there's an option out there for you to explore.
